Dex was trying to explain his new business idea, but I was barely listening. My mind was elsewhere, revisiting old conversations and analyzing past situations from different perspectives.

I know I lack compassion and tolerance and I need to be more understanding, but it's difficult for me to abandon my principles just so someone can feel better about doing something that they know is wrong.

I needed a hug and I tried to get one from Dex as I was leaving, but I think I freaked him when I moved in too close. He's developed proximity issues since his breakup with Melisha. I think she still controls his heart strings.

Back at the office, everyone was gone. Andrea was on vacation and Linda was in class, so I kept to myself the rest of the day. When it was time to come home, I couldn't wait the couple of hours it would take for Janine to get here, so I went to her work and grabbed a nice big hug there. That felt good and temporarily sated me.
