Mr. A didn't recognize me today. It's the first time that I haven't been able to get through to him. He's forgotten me before, but he usually remembers me by the time I leave. Today, he just wanted to be left alone. Not even bribes of chocolate stirred his memory. It was scary. I wanted to give him a hug when I left, but he wouldn't even allow me to get close. As soon as we drove off, I called dad and the grandparents and left them messages, reminding them that I love them.
We passed by the coffee shop and searched for Octavio again. It's been almost a month since I last saw him. No one seems to know where he is. I asked his friends, but they were all clueless. It's like he disappeared into thin air.
I met him six months ago when he was begging for change. I said I would buy him lunch if he looked at the sketch. He said he didn't recognize her, but I gave him copies of the sketch anyway. I asked him to keep an eye out for her and for the past six months that what he's been doing.
He was keeping an eye out for Eva in exchange for food, but know he's gone and I don't know where he is. I hope he found himself a job. That's what he wanted. He wanted things in is life to be back the way they used to be, before he got laid off.
