When Susan called me this morning, she was crying her head off. She said she was all alone and she didn't know where else to turn. She wanted to come over and talk, but I told her to stay put, because it sounded like she had been drinking. The last thing I wanted was for her to get into an accident. So I slipped on a pair of jeans and a sweater and drove over here.

She was waiting for me by the door and the moment she saw me, she ran up and clung to me. She wouldn't stop crying, so I walked her inside and held her while she let the tears flow. After a while, I felt the weight of her body as she relaxed herself in my arms. I carefully led her into her bedroom and gently released her onto the bed. She grasped my arm as I was leaving and pleaded with me to stay with her. So I climbed in and allowed her to curl up against me and spill her guts. I should have given her a sedative.

Several years ago, Susan started pursuing this guy named Eric. He was married. She knew he was married. That didn't stop her though. That just made her want him more. After a year of evading her, Eric caved in one night when he was drunk. The next day, he realized what he had done and he told her it was all a big mistake. Again, that didn't stop her. That only made her want him more. She continued to stalk him until he couldn't take it anymore. He filed a restraining order against her and threatened to go to HR for sexual harassment.

That's when we stepped in. She confessed all of this to us and we convinced her to stop pursuing him. We showed her the pros and cons and exposed the consequences of her actions. I think the thing that made up her mind was when we asked her to put herself in Cheryl's shoes. She knew Cheryl was an extremely nice person because we spent the summer with her at the food bank and got know that she was a loving wife and a caring mother.

After that, Susan stopped pursuing Eric and we kept her occupied on the straight and narrow by introducing her to cute single men. We watched her carefully so she wouldn't stray. That worked until she found out that Judy was moving. She says she felt betrayed. Betrayed? How? She decided to go after Eric again, but Eric quickly rebuffed her. She became angry and vengeful and threatened to tell Cheryl about what had happened between them. Eric thought she was bluffing, so he just continued to ignore her. Meanwhile she built up a head of steam and exploded one day. I still can't believe that she confronted Cheryl and told her. That was mean. That was a very mean and fucked up thing to do.

That's what happened in late May and as soon as she told us what she did, I sort of went ballistic. I was pissed off that she didn't come to us when she said she felt betrayed. I was pissed off that she went and fucked up the lives of people that I knew. I was pissed off that she wrecked a marriage and broke up a family. I was pissed off that she wanted us to make her feel better by saying that we understood why she did what she did. I was pissed off that she wanted us to back her up and tell her that her actions were justified.

That was bullshit! I told her fuck no!

That's when we got into it and that's why I haven't been talking to her. Up until today she thought what she did was right and she felt justified in doing it. This morning she confessed that she fucked things up and if she had it to do all over again, she would have come to us, instead of acting on her impulses.

So that's where we are. Susan's asleep and I'm not sure how to react to her apology or confession or whatever it is.
