Last night I had a dream about a dream that I had when I was a child:

My best friend, Heidi, was sick and we were at the doctor's office waiting for her test results. I think we were around six or seven years old at the time. Heidi was in a lot of pain and she was clutching my hand as we sat there together. The doctor's office had a little atrium in the back and I asked Heidi if she wanted to go out there while we waited. She nodded her head and I told the nurse where we were going, just in case our parents got back before we returned.

It was cloudy and it just started sprinkling as we stepped out. The atrium was lush in dark green colors, like a miniature rain forest. We made our way down the path to the end of the atrium, where it inclined to a sitting area. There was a bench there and a trellis over it to keep out the rain. I guided Heidi up the stepping stones and we sat there on the bench under the trellis.

The landscaping was amazing. We feasted our eyes on the plants and the rocks and the little pond with the baby ducks. Heidi pointed and giggled as a tiny frog jumped into the pond with a big splash. It felt so good to hear her giggle. She rested her head on my shoulder and I wrapped my arm securely around her. It was an incredibly peaceful place and an incredibly peaceful moment in our young lives.
