I wish Janine was here right now. She was incredible this morning. She greeted me with a full body hug and when she felt the stress in my body, she gave me an ultra delicious shoulder rub. It felt so good, she had me purring.
I stopped by her work this morning on my way home. I needed a hug. The flight home was anything but relaxing. On the bus ride to the airport, I was pinned to the window by this enormously huge guy who breathed really hard. Every breath of his was like a little tsunami. It wouldn't have been so bad, if he hadn't eaten feet for dinner. Oh, that retching smell.
Then there was the flight itself. It started out okay. I was seated in one of the empty rows at the back of the plane. The seats across the aisle were occupied by a quiet woman who reminded me of that model Estelle Warren. She smiled at me and I smiled back. After take off, I curled up across the seats and I noticed that the woman was still looking at me. She smiled again and I smiled back and then I fell asleep. An hour later, I woke up and the woman was still looking at me with a smile on her face. It freaked me out. Why the fuck was she staring at me? I clutched my purse under my blanket and curled up with my neck bent, so I could keep an eye on her. That really did wonders for my neck and back.
Well, at least the trip is over. They were originally scheduled to leave today and I wasn't even supposed to go. I was just a backup, but I guess the customer preferred to deal with me and they wanted to do it sooner than later. So the trip was moved up and I was sent down. Everything went okay. We completed our objectives by renewing customer confidence and we opened dialog with our counterparts for sustaining revenue over the next few quarters. On top of that, we knocked out the synchro audit that was scheduled for this fiscal quarter.
All in all, it was a successful trip and now I'm free to work on our checklist. Plus I have comp time coming, but I doubt I can take it this week. I have to get all my ducks in a row before we take off. Ugh! That reminds me. I have to do my expense reports. It's weird being here in the middle of the afternoon on a work day.
