Helen told me that she and Aidan might be getting engaged. I stopped tickling her and asked her if she was serious. She said that they had been talking about it and she thinks he might pop the question in December during their trip to Ireland.

I hugged her and told it was great, but it made me sad because it reminded me of the decisions I had made in my life. It reminded me about Kevin. I always thought that there would be another Kevin out there for me, but it hasn't been like that. Maybe he was the one. Maybe he was the love of my life and I let him get away. All of these other guys just don't measure up.

Then there's this thing that I've been feeling the past few months. This thing that keeps tugging at my heart. I don't know if it's real or if it's something that I'm just imagining. I don't know. Maybe the only reason I'm thinking about this is because another year has passed and I'm beginning to feel my age.
