We usually eat lunch in the office or sometimes, like today, we go out with Linda or Andrea. Today was kind of messed up though, because Jessie, our lovable sexpot, invited herself to our table. Normally, I wouldn't have minded, because Jessie is a fun girl, but the fact that Eva was there, made it kind of tense. I was in the ladies room when it happened. When I returned to our table, I heard remnants of past sexual exploits spewing out of Jessie's mouth. I looked at Eva and she was listening on with rapt attention. Aaagh! I greeted Jessie with a loud hello, to cut her off and then I quickly rounded the table and covered Eva's ears. I explained that Eva still had "virgin ears" and I didn't want anyone to corrupt her innocence. Jessie stuck her tongue out at me and blurted out that Eva was a grown woman and she could decide for herself. Ha! Little does she know...Eva isn't a grown woman, she's just a teenager. Everyone at work thinks that Eva is a college graduate who is temping for me. Everyone, except Linda and my boss, Paul. They both know the real story. Eva is not an employee. I just bring her to work with me because Janine and I don't trust her enough to leave her at home. I keep her in my office and she does her school work there, but if she finishes early, I let her tag along with me and do odds and ends. She loves doing that. Her mind is like a sponge. She retains a lot of the stuff that she learns. I just hope she doesn't get too attached. This is only a temporary situation, because she's going to be starting school in the Fall. I guess that's when we're going to have to give her a key to the place. Yeah, we still haven't given her a key, but that's only because she doesn't seem to need one. She mostly stays at home and reads. If she does go out, it's usually with Janine and me or over to Keaton's house. She and Keaton get along well. It's good that she has a friend her own age. They're resting in the living room right now. We just came back from blading and I'm waiting for Janine to come home, so I can dig into the blueberry cheesecake that she made this morning. It looks utterly divine and it's calling out my name. Can you hear it? |
