I was sorting through some old boxes and I found a bag of lab bottles. The bag belonged to Kim. She used to work with me when I was working at Jack-in-the-Box. We mostly worked at night and I would drive her home after our shift ended. She always put her stuff in the backseat and I'm guessing that her bag of bottles must have rolled forward and got lodged under the front seat. I didn't notice the bag until several months later, when I was cleaning my car. By then, we had both moved onto other jobs and lost contact. I showed the bottles to my friends and they informed me that those were the same type of bottles that were typically used as coke vials. I doubt if Kim was using the bottles for that purpose. She probably needed them for her labs at school. She was too sweet and innocent to be affiliated with something as nefarious as cocaine. I remember that day when she cheered me up. She came up to me in the breakroom and asked me what was wrong. She told me that I looked sad and then she wrapped her arms around me and pressed her body against mine. She said that I needed a hug. I was kind of bewildered by the sudden contact. She had never done that before. In fact, no one had ever done that before. She pulled back and told me that my body felt really tight and tense. Then she started massaging my shoulders. It felt really good and I would have let her continue, except I heard someone coming up the stairs. I was going to toss the bottles out, but after reminiscing, I've decided to keep them. |
