Oh God! I'm a lesbian!

If I had my way, I would do away with the "lesbian" label. I don't want to be considered a lesbian. I'm just an ordinary person who's madly in love with another ordinary person. It's as simple as that. Why do we need to label it?

Eva asked me about it on our way home. She asked me if I was happy being a lesbian. I told her that I was happy being with Janine and if that made me a lesbian, then so be it. Then she asked me if the lesbian joke that we overheard earlier, bothered me. One of the guys on the sales team made a lesbian joke about a couple of the women that he and his friend encountered during the previous weekend. It was at the end of the meeting as everyone was dispersing and it obviously wasn't intended for our ears.

I told Eva that it didn't bother me and I asked her if it bothered her. She said that it didn't, but she also thought that the sales guys were crude perverts. I quickly reminded her that we joke about the boys just as much, except we're way more discreet. She thought about that for a moment and then smiled.
